WHAT A YEAR IT HAS BEEN FOR AARON

2015 has been a fabulous year for Aaron. Beginning with the National Junior Circuit Leg 1 in January where Putrajaya played host, Aaron finished as semi-finalist in both U12 singles and doubles category.

In March, Aaron became champion in MSSD Putrajaya district and qualified for MSSM which he finished a dismal quarter-final round. Then in April, the Leg 2 of the National Junior Circuit in Malacca saw him advance to the quarter-finals while in the doubles, he and Jie Yang lost in the first round. Despite this, he collected enough points to qualify for both singles and doubles in the penultimate National Junior Grand-Prix finals in Kedah.

In Kedah, nobody would have expected little Aaron finished the way he did in the semi-finals. It was a feat that surpass all our expectations. The climax of the year was when Aaron has been selected by Kem Badminton Astro for an all expense paid trip to Tokyo Japan via a birthday treat recorded by Astro and aired in Astro Arena 801.

Aaron finished the year in a high for the PJba U13 ranking selection. He was unbeaten in all his 6 games to qualify for 2016 Putrajaya state team.

  2. Hi Abbas. The external badminton tournaments were made know to us by our club coaches. MSSM "Majlis Sukan Sekolah Malaysia" is the annual sports event by Government schools organised and funded by the Ministry of Education. It is a country wide event for all sports, not just badminton. If you represent your school (only Government Schools, not Private Schools) for badminton, you will first play against other schools in the same district. After that against other districts and finally vs other states. If you are a semi finalist, very likelihood you will be invited for selection for admission into the Bukit Jalil Sports School KL. This is where all selected athletes will undergo intensive training for preparation to represent the Country for future Olympics. They dont take walk-ins. They only select the cream of the crop, best of the best to be in the National Junior Set Up, National Back-Up and ultimately to the Senior Level. Unfortunately, MSSM is the only platform where the Officials normally consider for intake into Bukit Jalil Sports School. The other being the BAM organised tournaments ie. the annual junior circuits and the junior Grand Prix finals etc. However, these are only open for BAM registered state players. I'm afraid the external private tournaments carry no weight at all in the selection process to the Bukit Jalil Sports School. Hope this helps.
